Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 15.5 x 19.5, December 24, 1898. President McKinley appoints Benjamin Alvord as “Captain of Infantry in the service of the United States.” Nicely signed at the conclusion by President McKinley and countersigned by Secretary of War Russel A. Alger. The blue seal affixed to the lower left remains intact. In fine condition, with slight scattered soiling. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
