Description

The Who perform as "The High Numbers," open for Dusty Springfield in the summer of 1964

Original vintage program for a Dusty Springfield concert at the Hippodrome in Brighton, England, on August 23, 1964, twelve pages, 8 x 10.25, the inside of which lists “The High Numbers” as the show’s opening act; when The Who hired Peter Meaden as their new manager, he renamed the group The High Numbers and dressed them up in mod clothes to represent the growing mod movement in Britain. After a few months, the group changed their name back to The Who when their single, ‘Zoot Suit / I'm the Face,’ failed to reach the top 50. Includes an original ticket stub from the referenced Dusty Springfield concert at the Brighton Hippodrome. In very good to fine condition, with a central vertical fold and light handling wear. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.
