Description

Red and white damask curtain relic from the Lincoln home in Springfield, Illinois, measuring approximately 1.25˝ x 1˝, displayed in a small Riker box. Includes a certificate of authenticity from The Historical Shop, in part: "The fabric remnant in this display originated from a larger piece wrapped in the brown paper shown below purchased by Harry Wilton of Springfield, Illinois from the Lincolns before they left for Washington, DC. The damask remnant once was part of a drape that was in the Lincoln parlor in Springfield, Illinois. Wilton was the United States Marshall in Springfield and a friend of the Lincolns. Other items that Wilton purchased from the Lincolns later were sold to the Henry Ford Museum by his relatives." In fine condition.
