Manuscript DS as Attorney General of New York, signed “M. V. Buren,” one page, 7.5 x 7.5, May 30, 1818. Mortgage assumption document, in part: “Know all men by these presents that I Martin Van Buren for in consideration of one Dollar to me hand paid by Stephen Shipman have assigned transferred & set…the within mortgage & all my Interest in the monier therein mentioned.” Signed at the conclusion by Martin Van Buren. Double-matted and framed with an engraved portrait to an overall size of 19 x 14.5. In very good to fine condition, with intersecting folds and light creasing.
