Vintage glossy 12 x 7.5 photo of the Soviet Union’s original six cosmonauts — Pavel Popovich, Andrian Nikolaev, Gherman Titov, Valentina Tereshkova, Yuri Gagarin, and Valery Bykovsky — posing together during a joyous outdoor ceremony, signed in the lower border in ink by each pictured space explorer, with one adding an inscription to the upper left corner dated to March 8, 1964. The recipient was Praskovya Mikhailovna Novikova, the chef of the flight canteen of Military Unit 26266, a secret training base for Soviet Cosmonaut candidates that later became known as the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. In very good to fine condition, with creasing along the sides, heaviest to the right edge. Accompanied by two photos of Novikova, as well as by a 1989 commendation from the commander of Military Unit 26266, honoring Novikova on her 50th birthday, which is signed by Colonel E. Dyatlov and Cosmonaut Andrian Nikolaev.
