Stunning, large gold lunar ring carried to the lunar surface on the Apollo 14 mission aboard the Lunar Module 'Antares,' presented by LMP Edgar Mitchell to his wife, Louise. The ring features a double-wrapped golden wire terminating in a 3/4˝ cratered gold sphere representing the moon. Housed in a hinged brown jewelry case, marked "Garden of Jewels" inside the lid.
Accompanied by a TLS signed "Edgar D. Mitchell," one page, NASA letterhead, July 30, 1971. In full: "This letter will certify that your gold ring with a cast gold sphere representing the moon was designed for you and carried aboard the spacecraft 'Antares' during my Apollo XIV lunar expedition January 31, 1971 to February 9, 1971." Also includes a letter of provenance from Elizabeth Kendall, the daughter of Edgar Mitchell.
