Lot of six Apollo 14 'Type 1' insurance-style covers with cachets of the mission insignia and Navy and Air Force wings underneath, postmarked at Kennedy Space Center on January 31, 1971, signed around the cachet in felt tip by Alan Shepard, Ed Mitchell, and Stu Roosa. Curiously, while these covers boast the correct vintage signatures and postmarks, they all carry 10¢ 'First Man on the Moon' postage stamps, rather than the 6¢ 'Earthrise' stamp found on standard Apollo 14 'Type 1' insurance covers. In overall fine condition, with a couple bumped corners and spots of foxing. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Elizabeth Kendall, the daughter of Edgar Mitchell.
Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Elizabeth Kendall, the daughter of Edgar Mitchell.
