Flight-ready solar cell designed for use on the Sojourner rover vehicle that reached Mars on July 4, 1997, as part of the Mars Pathfinder mission. The cell, 1.75˝ x .25˝, is matted and framed with a color photo of the Sojourner and an engraved plate to an overall size of 14.25˝ x 11.25˝. The plate reads: “Sojourner Solar Cell / Thai flight ready solar cell was found to be defective by NASA/JPL and was subsequently replaced. Said solar cell was obtained from Donna Shirley, program manager for the Mars Pathfinder mission.” In fine condition.
