Description

Flown CSM "Omni Antenna Guide" cue card certified by Apollo 7 LMP Walt Cunningham

Flown single-sided cue card carried on the historic Apollo 7 mission, 2 x 2.25, signed and flight-certified on the reverse in black felt tip, "Flown on Apollo 7, Walt Cunningham, Apollo 7." The card is headed "Omni Antenna Guide" and lists procedures for orientation of the spacecraft's communications antenna at various points in the mission. The reverse is also annotated in another hand, "CSM 101, 8B," and bears an affixed swatch of Velcro, allowing the astronauts to position it on the spacecraft's control panel. In fine condition.

Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by Walt Cunningham, in part: "This copy of the CSM Procedures for orientation of the Omni antenna during Apollo 7 testing objectives was used by me during the 4,500,000 mile Apollo 7 mission, October 11–22, 1968. Even after years spent learning the spacecraft systems, it was necessary to refer to trouble shooting flow charts to insure that some critical step was not overlooked in recovering from unexpected events."

Also includes a color satin-finish 10 x 8 photo of Cunningham during the mission, in which this mini cue card can be seen in the lower left, signed in blue felt tip, "Walt Cunningham, Apollo 7, 10-11-68."
