Orbital entertainment—Alan Bean's #1 Skylab Space Station mixtape

Flown cassette tape carried into Earth orbit on the Skylab II (SL-3) mission by Commander Alan Bean (as attested by his daughter), 4˝ x 2.5˝, with his handwritten label: "Skylab A.B., Cassette #1." Mounted and framed with a Skylab II Beta patch signed by the full crew (Alan Bean, Owen Garriott, and Jack Lousma) to an overall size of 12.25 x 19.75. In fine condition.

Accompanied by two certificates of authenticity signed by Bean's daughter and executor, Amy S. Bean, in part: "I hereby certify that the framed music cassette that accompanies this letter was flown in space and provided entertainment for my father, Alan Bean, during his 59 1/2 day mission aboard the Skylab II (SL-3) Space Station from July 28–September 25, 1973. This tape…is a mix of early 1970s Pop and Country hits recorded from Alan's personal collection of 45 RPM records…Not only did he listen to Tape #1 while working in space, he played this tape post-Skylab in his Houston studio while painting at his easel." Also includes a CD copy of the songs on the tape.
