Important British painter (1909–1992) best known for his grotesque, sometimes violent imagery often incorporating flayed human figures. ALS in French, one page, 8 x 10, April 13, 1992. Handwritten letter to Karl Moreau, in part (translated): "I am leaving for Spain on the 18th of this month and I will not be back before the end of May, after that I will be in London, I have an exhibition in Madrid in the autumn." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Bacon's own hand.
